Where Your Walls Aren’t: Garage Doors & Other Openings

Posted on May 7, 2013

garage doorThe walls inside of your home really keep it protected. They offer privacy and so much more. But not all areas of the home are equipped with walls. Have you thought about the other areas of your home, such as garage doors? These items also keep your home protected in one way or another and it is imperative that you do your part to keep them protected as well.

The garage door isn’t the only protective barrier inside of your home along with the walls. Take a look around and you will probably notice many things that you did not notice before. You should protect them and take as just much of a concern in them as you would your walls.

All of these things work together to keep you protected as well as in love with your home. You will find it simple and easy to make sure they are of the best quality and always properly taken care of.

A Look at Garage Doors

Garage doors can be opened using an electronic opener or manually and are typically used to secure the home. There are a number of options for installing them, and it is important that the best is chosen.

Residential garage doors are used specifically for the home. You can use the garage to store motorcycles, cars, and other household items and equipment. A residential garage is much smaller than those that are used commercially. The costs to install the garage doors are usually much cheaper as well. The cost that you will incur is not set in stone, however, and there are a number of factors that can affect the price that you will spend. One of those factors is the brand. You can find many big brands of garage doors out there. It is certainly fine if you want one of these designer brands, but be prepared to spend when you do.

Factors Affecting the Cost of Garage Doors

You should also know that the style you want is going to affect the price. There are many styles of garages these days. You can easily choose something that meets your style and grace but do keep in mind it will also affect your wallet.
The type of wall that is chosen can also affect the price. A sectional garage door is one option that you can use. This allows you to have two different openings, so that you can store two cars or keep items separated. You can expect that this will cost you more.

Will you use automatic or manual? Yet again these are things that can affect the cost of your garage doors. Automatic is the preferred type as they are so easy to use but they do cost more when time to purchase.

Garage doors and other openings in your home are just as important as the other areas. Make sure that you carefully choose them. It is a small l-step that will do so much for you and the quality of your home. It is too easy to pass up.

Client Testimonials

The thing that differentiates J&N from any other contractor I know is that you can TRUST them whole heartedly. You can trust that they will give you the most accurate estimate possible, that they will communicate throughout the job how things are going and when there is new information that might effect the cost or finish time, and that it will be a job well done, to code and with care. Jim and Nancy have helped me on every aspect of my home – they replaced my knob and tube wiring, put in a new kitchen, built me a deck, custom designed and installed stain glass, designed and built me a new stairway and banister that match the one built in 1923, repaired my lathe and plaster, tiled my bathroom and kitchen, you name it – they've done it ! I trust J&N and thank them for making my house a home and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor you can trust to get the job done right.
